Expo 2030 Riyadh
Why Expo 2030 Riyadh matters
What is a World Expo?
World Expos are global gatherings where countries share innovations, exchange knowledge, and address the challenges facing humanity.
Since 1851, these events have introduced the world to transformative inventions, from the telegraph and telephone to the Eiffel Tower and early computers. They've also influenced how nations collaborate on issues like urbanisation, energy, and social development. Regulated by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), World Expos create a space where countries can present their vision and learn from each other. Today, Expos focus on the most pressing global issues: climate action, technological change, and human well-being. They ask one fundamental question: How do we prepare for tomorrow together?

Where Saudi Vision 2030 meets the world
A celebration of Saudi Vision 2030
Saudi Arabia is on a journey that has reshaped how the Kingdom innovates, grows, and engages globally. Since 2016, this transformation has unlocked new sectors, empowered citizens, and positioned the nation as a hub for culture and progress. Expo 2030 Riyadh offers the platform to share and celebrate this evolution. It invites visitors to experience a nation in motion and explore what sustained commitment can unlock for the future.
The Expo site
A global stage
Spanning 6 million square metres and featuring hundreds of unique pavilions, the site is organised into themed districts to guide visitors through the Expo’s subthemes: transformational technology, sustainable solutions, and prosperous people. Each country will have its own pavilion, providing a dedicated platform to share its vision.
Built to last
After the event, the site will transform into a global village with thousands of housing units, cultural spaces, entertainment venues, and business districts.
Designed around Riyadh’s natural geography, the site follows existing contours inspired by Wadi Al Sulai, creating smoother movement, better water management, and a closer connection between architecture and landscape.
Patterns with purpose
Nature-inspired fractal geometry shapes a walkable, intuitive layout that shortens distances and improves flow, making it easier for visitors to navigate, explore, and experience more of the Expo.
Living landscapes
Shaded ‘cool routes’, natural water systems, and water-efficient planting create comfortable outdoor spaces in extreme heat, demonstrating climate-responsive design relevant to cities worldwide.
